Good to know

  • Panorama lists extra nights at RM110 (fan room) or RM180 (A/C room), and course-night fan/A/C room rates of RM80 / RM150, if you want a private room instead of the dorm. [1]
  • Panorama says the course can't be shorter than 3.5 days; if you start on the day you arrive you need to be on the island before 11am. [1]
  • The shared boat to the islands generally runs February–October and only when seas allow, according to an independent guide. [2]

We couldn't verify

  • Reopening date for the 2027 season (Panorama's page only shows the 2026 dates).
  • Whether any Perhentian dive centre is still taking beginners today.
  • Group size per instructor.
